RM Vittorio Veneto, the pride of the Royal Italian Navy. She was launched in 1937 and took part in 56 combat sorties including the battles of Cape Teulada and Cape Matapan. Suffering aerial torpedo damage at the hands of the Royal Navy, she was laid up in Taranto and then surrendered to the Allies on Italy's capitulation on September 9, 1943.
