• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

CFS2 Weapons Pack- Seismic Bombs.
By John P Fortin (Blood_Hawk23)

Here are two WWII Deep Penetration Bombs. The "Tallboy" Bomb, Medium Capacity, 12,000 lb, and the "Grand Slam" Bomb, Medium Capacity, 22,000 lb. They were called Seismic or "Earthquake" Bombs. As their intended use was to destroy targets by penetrating the ground and causing a seismic shock wave.

The "Tallboy" was 6.35 meters (21 feet) Long and weighed 5,443 kgs (12,000 lbs). The "Grand Slam" was 1.73 meters longer for a total of 8.08 meters (26.5 feet) and weighed 9,979 kgs (22,000 lbs). It was the largest conventional bomb dropped during World War II.

Only two aircraft ever carried the "Tallboy" or the "Grand Slam". They were the Avro Lancaster and Boeing B-29 Superfortress. The only other aircraft ever capable of carring the "Tallboy" was the Convair B-36 Peacemaker.

Some U.S. versions of the "Tallboy" called the T-10, later re-designated the M-121, were dropped during the Korean War and Vietnam.

The scale of each model is correct. As is the weight in the DPs. These are Multi-LOD models.
