Roland C.IIa "Walfisch" 1916.

This model includes the following animations: full surface motions and prop, engine rockers, valve springs and generator pulley, joystick and moving pilot's head. Model also includes 4 x 12.5kg Pruefanstalt und Werft bombs.

I must thank the following people for their considerable help:

Peter Harris aka Ggollob for the tremendous technical details he provided about the aircraft;

Fred Green who yet again came to my rescue and created a great dp file;

James Banks for his efforts in trying to get this to fly right. (even though I still tinkered afterwards);

Bastian Hundt and Horst Weingartner for allowing me to use some of their terrific gauges;

Justflight.com for their generosity in allowing me to use what are normally commercial gauges.

Arguably the nicest looking aircraft to appear during the Great War (yet cruelly nicknamed the "whale"), the Roland was the first serious attempt to address the problem of high drag in early aircraft.
