This is a collection of new & reworked ship effects. Some are simple recolouring, others are more extensive revisions of existing effects, & some are new creations.

recoloured oilslicks. I recoloured the ugly black oilslick & made it a bit more transparent. These form part of

A new bow wave for blunt-nosed vessels. Adapted from an effect used by Jaxon in his Waverley paddlesteamer conversion.

A new hangar fire effect, that initially spews out either to port or stbd, rather than straight up through the flight deck.

A small oil leak, that initially moves out from either the port or stbd side. This is an experiment to see if an effect can continue to damage after the initial weapon hit, like some of the fire effects can do so with buildings. In this case I've called it "flood" to hint that it's best used in the effects of a ships hull box.

A new smokestack effect for ships moored in harbour, with their boilers idling. Best used on static infrastructure ships.

Some long trailing wakes without a white foamy centre. I wanted to make the JAP_LCs I was working on easier to spot in open water, but din't want to overdo the effect of them ploughing through the sea at speed, because they don't! I've since found them useful for slow merchantmen as well.

Lastly, some revised water explosion effects that give more damage for near misses. Particularly useful when using lighter bombs against small vessels. The stock effects left you needing to get a direct hit on any size of target, which is just unrealistic for very small vessels like landing craft. See the results of my experiments included with this zip. The effects that have been revised are:
