The Sopwith Type 9400 or better know as Sopwith 1½ Strutter because of the long and short pairs of cabane struts forming a "W" when viewed from the front supported the top wing. The Type 9400 served as a two-seat fighter-scout, bomber and reconnaissance. Paint is of a 1½ Strutter that was captured by Germany in undamaged condition after a forced landing in May 1917.
