The Patiño (A-14) is a combat supply (AOR) ship belonging to the Spanish Armada. She was named after the Minister of Marine Jose Patino Rosales, commisioned by the king Philip V to reform the Navy in the eighteenth century. The ship was a joint project with the Royal Navy of the Netherlands, which acquired a sister ship, the Amsterdam (A 836). She can carry up to 5 helicopters, and entered service in 1995. A second ship of her class, the A 15 Cantabria, has been layed.
