This is a campaign that was originally posted on the Netwings site. They were intended for stock CFS3 and/or CFS3 with Firepower ONLY. Nothing has been modified in any way and it is still in it's original *.zip file. Here is the README for full acknowledgement: *********************************************** Spitfire Wing Mission Pack for CFS3 (v1.0) Freeware January 2003 *********************************************** This is a package of 26 missions for CFS3 which, if flown in chronological order, are meant to provide a mini-campaign which follows historical events. The missions trace the experiences of a hypothetical spitfire pilot from midsummer 1942 through to autumn 1943. There are two versions of the install program. One installs missions which use default planes only. The other installs missions which use the 1% planes (obtained from the site http://www.mudpond.us). If you want to fly both, just run both installers. Also included are multiplayer versions of a few of the missions which remove the long flights before the action. WHAT NEEDS INSTALLING: There are missions and spawn files, which are put into their proper places by the install program. No other 3rd party planes, weather or scenery are required. I recommend getting the 1% spitfire V (from http://www.mudpond.us) and the (free) aeroplane heaven Bf 109e (from http://www.aeroplaneheaven.com). Besides being good to have on their own right, they are among the few planes which will randomly spawn in missions which are set before early 1943. TO FIND THE MISSIONS WHEN PLAYING THE GAME: Go to the Missions tab, and select the Historical missions. The new missions will appear among the missions listed. The historical single-player missions appear with names starting with SW, and the multiplayer missions appear with names starting with SWMP. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS: The missions are meant to be historically plausible, and are modelled on a composite spitfire pilot taken from a number of WWII memoirs, including All the Fine Young Eagles, by David Bashow; First Light, by Geoffrey Wellum; Spitfire Command, by Group Captain Bobby Oxspring; Spitfire into Battle, by Group Captain W.G.G. Duncan Smith; Spitfire Leader, by Wing Commander Evan Mackie; Wing Leader, by Air Vice-Marshal Johnnie Johnson; Thanks also to hector for pointing out the virtues of making multiplayer versions which don't involve a lot of initial flying. ENJOY! *************************************************** LEGAL STUFF: THESE MISSION FILES ARE MY PROPERTY, BUT YOU MAY DO PRETTY MUCH WHAT YOU LIKE WITH THEM SO LONG AS YOU MAKE NO MONEY DOING SO. YOU HAVE MY PERMISSION TO UPLOAD THEM ELSEWHERE SO LONG AS NO MONEY IS CHARGED FOR ACCESS TO THEM. I AM NOT LIABLE FOR ANY TROUBLE THAT YOU MIGHT INCUR AS A RESULT OF USING THESE FILES. © c burgess, for the Ground Crew, January 2003 E-mail: (tphys@hotmail.com) **************************************************** Submitted by grizzly50 |
