R 01 Dédalo, formerly USS Cabot, was the second Spanish aircraft carrier with that name. She entered in Spanish service in 1967 and remained the fleet's flagship until the Principe de Asturias replaced her in 1989.
Typically carried an air group of eight AV-8S fighters, four Sea King antisubmarine warfare helicopters and four AB 212ASW Twin Hueys although Sikorsky S-55/CH-19s and AH-1 Cobras.
