Tigercat MkI TT346, No.787 Sqn FAA
Hi-Res Skin for CFS3 Grumman F7F-3 'Tigercat' model by Greg Logan
The Royal Navy trialled two Tigercats in early 1945; one, TT346, was sent to RAF Tangmere for evaluation by No.787 Sqn Fleet Air Arm.
Neither aircraft was used in combat, and neither was repainted in British colours; they kept their USN livery throughout trials. No orders were placed for Tigercats, as it was felt that the DH Sea Hornet which was nearing the end of its development, would be the better choice for the Royal Navy.
This skin is therefore totally fictional and should not be considered as historically correct in any way, other than the serial number of the aircraft.
