Derived from the experience acquired with FW-1262 and Fiat G.95 the VAK-191B was a NATO joint venture using a center fuselage jet engine and two fore and aft lift engines, proposed for VTOL roles and an overall Harrier-style arrangement. Three prototypes were built totaling 91 flights from 1970 to 1975. The project was later abandoned.
