VF9 Skinpack for Allen's F6F3 Hellcat by UncleTgt
This is a collection of repaints for the F6F3 Hellcat made by Allen for CFS 2.
It includes individual a/c cfg files.This pack represents aircraft used by VF9 during it's second tour on USS Essex across the Central Pacific during 1943/44.
The textures are selected to illustrate the development & variation in paint schemes during VF9's second tour - I could have gone on to represent more of the pilots that made ace over Truk in Feb 44 but that would have repeated aircraft appearances & just swapped numbers out. If there is demand I can provide more variants:
Black "F-36" An unidentified training aircraft seen in the skies over california during 1943.
White "30" An early plane from VF9 in the early war 2 tone scheme. VF9 repainted its aircraft in the 3 colour scheme prior to deploying for operations.
White "14" Used by VF9 during the Marcuys Island raid, & sporting the short lived red outlined start & bar insignia.
white "17" One of the aircraft involved in VF9's first kill with the Hellcat over Wake Island, October 1943.
white "7" Flown by Lt(jg) McWhorter when he became the first Hellcat ace, 19th Nov 1943.
white "27" Flown by Lt(jg) Valencia over Roi, 29th JAN 1944.
white "22" Flown by Lt9jg) Franger over Truk, 17th FEB 1944.
white "36" Flown by Lt(jg) Bonneau over Truk, 17th FEB 1944.
To install, unzip the download to a temporary location. Create a copy of the Allen F6F3 Hellcat & move/copy files to the matching folder names inside your chosen CFS 2 install.

Kelticheart for the base prop transparencies, I just fiddled with the alpha layer to make it more transparent.
This is freeware and subject to the usual conditions.
