VN_Illustrious Class Carriers re-do by UncleTgt
Updated 07-SEP-2016 to correct [MISC DATA] error that prevented BPF models from displaying.
This is a series of repaints for the Virtual Navy's HMS Illustrious. Repaints are included for all 6 vessels of the class:
HMS Illustrious 40, 43 & 45
HMS Formidable 42 & 45
HMS Implacable 44 & 45
HMS Indefatigable 44 & 45
HMS Indomitable 42, 44 & 45
HMS Victorious 41, 43, & 45
Bruce Baker has graciously provided the source files to allow the model to be remapped to accept more detailed camoflage paints, & Baldy has completely remapped the model for me.
To get the best out of this, I've packaged each paint as a separate vessel/year, & to avoid any possible issues with the sim/ mission builder I've renamed the model in each case as well.
I've adapted Blue Devil's ACM Essex Class carrier DPs to give the feel of the evolving AA outfits for these ships - they're not accurate, but have a desired effect. I chose to use Blue Devil's approach to dps because it also allowed me to harden up the decks & make them "tougher" than US Carriers to deck hits.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Because of the remapped model, these repaints will not work with the original "VN_Illustrious."
Installation: Unzip to a separate folder and:
1. copy the contents of the Combat Flight Simulator 2/Ships folder from the downloaded folder in your Combat Flight Simulator 2/Ships folder.
Thanks to: The Virtual Navy for an excellent ship - just needed some warpaint & a dp to suit.
Blue Devil for his ACM carrier packs - they provided the inspiration & start point for the dp files.
Bruce Baker for allowing the source files to be modded to accept new paints.
Baldy for remapping the model & never grumbling when I asked if some thing else could be done!
These are freeware & subject to the usual conditions.
