This repaint represents Grumman F9F-5 Panther, BuNo 126109 of Marine Fighter Squadron 311 Tomcats. This aircraft is one of several F9F Panthers that Baseball Hall of Fame slugger, Ted Williams flew after being called up to active duty during the Korean "conflict" in the time frame of 1952 - 1953. 126109 is the aircraft he crash-landed at Suwon on February 16, 1953, after it was severely damaged by ground fire.
