Warbirdsim P-51D Mustang N5420V "Swamp Fox" 2024-06-16

This is a repaint for the payware Warbirdsim product 'Mustang Tales'. This repaint depicts P-51D-25-NA, 44-74202, registered N5420V, as the aircraft appears today. Having been owned by Jack Croul/Allied Fighters, the aircraft was completely rebuilt by Vintage Airframes between 2007 and 2010, with the final details of its restoration completed by Westpac Restorations and Fighter Rebuilders. The aircraft was completed and first flown again in June of 2012, finished in factory markings and a highly polished bare metal finish (see jt_p51_n5420v_ff.zip). Only a month later, the aircraft would be purchased by Robert Dickson, and soon be painted in the authentic 357th FG markings of "Swamp Fox". The original "Swamp Fox" was flown by Lt. Col. Will Foard, who was able to reunite with 'his' aircraft again. This aircraft won the "Best WWII Fighter" award at EAA Airventure Oshkosh 2013.
