Whitley MkIV K9026 PB-O, No.10Sqn RAF, 1938 Repaint of the original aircraft by Edward Cook, Corrado La Posta, James Allen and Brian Hill. Particular thanks to Brian Hill for allowing me to paint over his original textures, much of which I have kept for the lower surfaces. The real K9026 was a MkIV, rather than a MkV, and was therefore among the first Merlin-engined Whitleys built; as such, it kept the deeper, more rounded tailfins of the earlier versions. The Squadron codes, here 'PB', were introduced at about this time as a reaction to the increasing degree of tension between Germany and the Western Allies. Note the typical pre-war serial number painted below the wings.
