• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

-----------------------
The D4Y2-S Model 12 Suisei INJ Carrier Dive Bomber/Night fighter. Special night intercept and raider version of the D4Y2 Suisei. It was used to intercept B-29 bombers with its upward firing 20mm Cannon and for night intruder raids on Okinawa. Included is a Skin by Talos2005 for the Fuyo-Butai night intruder aircraft and the rockets that they used.

This version has the 1400 HP Aicho Atsuta Liquid Cooeld engine and 20mm upward firing cannon.

Fuyo-Butai was IJN’s Night Raiding Unit specialized in strafing, rocketing and bombing on enemy forces on land and sea at night. Sometimes, they performed night-interception duties.

Its commanding officer was Lt. Cdr Minobe and they were nominally under the command of 131 Kokutai but operated as semi-independent unit receiving orders directly from Dai Go Koku-Kantai (5th Air Fleet).

They kept night attacks tenaciously in 1945 over Okinawa swarmed with F6F-5N and P61 night fighters.
Also, one must keep in mind that Lt.Cdr Minobe was among a few commanding officers declining Kamikaze-orders and stick to ordinary but resourceful tactics for giving much damages as they could on U.S. forces.
They mainly used D4Y2-S, D4Y2, D4Y2-C and A6M5 for those night missions.

This package includes the panel fix by Sandydog.
