Retired Air Force Lt. Col. George Hardy, who died this week at 100, was one of the last Tuskegee Airmen to see combat overseas.

Almost posted that yesterday from our local paper. He was one of two Tuskegee Airmen that lived in the area.

Yenworth Whitney, a Flight Officer who flew 34 missions with the Tuskegee Airmen, was someone I saw at work almost every day. He passed away back in 2011. I felt honored just being able to say hello and good morning to him, whenever I ran into him.

In a new article today about George Hardy, it mentions he was one 16 Tuskegee Airmen that moved here after the war. I'd never heard this before.
