1. Flying the F.E.2b in April 1916 with RFC 22, I am still getting missions set for around 10,000 to 12,000 ft, even on medium altitude settings in the workshop, which is beyond that aircraft's 9000 ft ceiling. In the 1.25 download page, it says that mission altitudes were ajdusted so as not to exceed an aircraft's ceiling.
2. This is just a realism question regarding flight size + formations: early in the war, such as in the time above, would it be more realistic to use normal or high density flights; i.e. 2-4 vs. 6-8? I thought that the Germans gave the Allies a scare when they started sending out the Jastas in squadron strength. If so, is it realistic to select the high flight density in the workshop. Are enemy flight sizes realistically dealt with in the campaign-- do flights early in the war use smaller numbers than later?
We allready have several tips for increasing realism, such as putting gunnery to wide for rotaries, which planes do/don't have mixture and throttle controls, and flak settings for a particular time in the war. Is it possible to get a similar system for flight sizes?
I don't know what's in the works for 1.3, but would it be possible for flight sizes to be looked into. Right now, if I select high density, I get 6-8 flight members in a fighter squad and 3-5 in a bomber squad. What I would like is some sort of variation on this, where there would be some 3-ship flights, maybe some with just a leader and a wingmen, and then some in in full squadron strength, with everything respective to the time/side of the war. It would add to the immersion if I didn't have the same # of wingmen every flight other than lone wolf missions.
thanks. keep up the good work!
