10 best air shows around the world

Paris Air Show is not on the list, but the Great Tennessee Air Show is??? I don't think so...
(no offense to our Tennessee members)

ill be missing my third airshow of the year already this coming saturday, doesnt look like ill make any this year, seems dad things im too fat to be seen in public...odd seeing he was bigger than me just a few years ago...

In actual fact I was surprised Abbotsford got in there too, it's been basically the same show trudged out every year for the last 9 years to my knowledge, 'cept this year there will be no T-Birds due to the cutbacks. 3 years ago they had the Lanc but that's about the only variation in a while.:sleep:

Hey Daveroo,....what difference does it make how heavy you might be? Yes,...I know,...being heavily over weight can make one feel self-conscience,...but the heck with it. It's the viewers problem,...not yours. I say go out to an airshow and enjoy the day and take plenty of photos and post them here.

well the issue is that i seem to embarrass my dad now,and why that is an issue is that i do not even own my own vehicle anymore,i made a stupid mistake back on nov 8 1994 and got myself a DUI,i stopped drinking that night, well after that night, but after i broke my back in 1995,and my back surgery ect, after i settled with the insurance co,and got on SSD,after my first SSD medical review,i was turned down because i was "just living with my pain and situation"..i wasnt seeing a doctor or taking meds, therefore they said i wasnt disabled,i was,so i went to a doctor, started meds, and one night an ex-girlfriend who happened to be the local police chief at the time came for a visit, saw my meds box and told me..davey?..if you take all this crap everyday,i better not catch you driving,or im going to toss you in jail,,and i realised she wasnt kidding me....so after a few years of just letting my truck sit..i sold it,and then let my Drivers lic go and i only have a ID now....so

i now depend on my dad for everything i do,and he doesnt want to take me anywhere with him,he is allways finding excuses to not go,but like tonight at dinner,he told my mom, keep feeding that boy like that, hes gonna be 800 pounds in another year...i had less food on my plate than he did!!!

its never ending, when i worked for him he found things to pick at me for,and one time he got drunk and told me in front of my friends and his,,i wasnt his son,the best part of me dribbled down the mailmans leg....we have issues...

Don't take this the wrong way Daveroo, but your dad is an idiot. Ignore him. No father should treat their own son like that.

Miramar won't be on that list next year...It was announced yesterday that there will be NO flying military displays at this year's show. Now I'm waiting for it to be cancelled outright. :frown:

Mather is supposed to be good this year...so they say...BTW..my dad came out to the RV this morning and asked me very nicely to join him at his truck,at the back of it,his tailgate was off,its one of those 5th wheel windgates, easy to remove, and there was a 7 foot long aluminum folding portable ramp mounted on the back,,working together..he didnt raise his voice once,we came up with a design idea for a stand for under the end of the ramp we have, and the length of a set of ramps,or a single ramp extension we will have Bast brothers welding build for us,and additional 5-6ft..to get my jazzy into the truck without a big fight...and as we finished..he said to me....ill get over to sam's (Bast) soon as possible...we have airshows and some cars shows we need to go to....:icon_eek:

i know he doesnt read these posts, but i did tell my mother i was a bit ticked at him...on July 5th/6th ( my birthday).Col Anderson had invited me/us to join him at the Truckee Ca flyin airshow dinner on friday night, and then join him again on saturday for the airshow and spend the day hanging out with him..(anderson)...would have been an awesome experience, besides bragging rights eh???...and dad had just complained Truckee was to far to go to an airshow..and sunday the 8th..he and mom drove to Donner Lake to visit some friends at their house..its only another 5 miles to the Truckee airport!!!

well anyway...he seems to be making an attempt atleast,i mentioned the airshow at santa rosa ,now that we will have the jazzy in the bed ,not hanging on the back on that little carrier...and he just smiled..didnt say a word.....yeah i admit..i push him too...

Good to see RIAT (Royal International Air Tattoo) on the list, this time next week i'll be sleeping after a day of Volunteer work at the show... some interesting sights this year, from the Connie to the 'Best of British' Flypasts; Saturday an A380 will fly through in formation with the Red Arrows and Sunday the A400M will do it's normal demo and flythrough with the reds... i enjoy RIAT immensely, it gives me a chance to work alongside friends who i never see apart from at RIAT and occasionally a simmer or two! despite having to work i always take my camera for my breaks and go walk the site, and with over a mile of Static and exhibits to cover it can take some doing, then there's departures and arrivals days (which this year to me is Friday and Monday), great to see the stuff that is on static during the weekend get mobile... :jump:

Wouldn't it be great if Mildenhall was re-envigorated. They imho were the best.

yeah, doubt we'll see the Mildenhall Air Fete again though, due to budget cuts etc... they looked at it back in 2011 but it never materialised, there used to be some really great shows in the UK now we're just left with what i call the 'core' shows, the crowd drawers...
