awesome stuff......my dad talks about his "additional birthday" aswell....i told him im not buying him a gift though....i have a few things i "celibrate" too...the day i stopped smoking...i was smoking a cigg,,my throat was burning from the cigg,it was 109F outside (and i allways sat outside to smoke),i smelled bad,,could smell the cigg smoke on my fingers eachtime i took a drag,and the mail had come,,i opened my sams club credit account and i saw how much i owed,and how much of what i owed was all "tobacco" it was rediculas....i tossed a half a pack..snuffed out the one that was burning..and i was done..havent smoked since..didnt need a patch or gum or meds..nothing..all i needed was the wake up call as to how much money (that i didnt have) i was spending .....i also "celibrate" my last day of beer consumption.....im not really sure why im alive,im in now way proud of this..so please dont take this as bragging..i saw many bad things while a firefighter due to alcohol .but november 8th at 10:08 pm 1994 i was arrested for DUI,turned out i was a .29 i ALLWAYS walked when i was going to the local bars..i lived in an apartment close to the touristy little "oldtown auburn" cal...several bars and all in walking distance...i walked that night...and i went home and was safe...but i hadnt had dinner...i called the pizza place...they wouldnt deliever because it was just two 17 year old girls working..wouldnt leave eachother alone..and wouldnt deleiver...so me being drunk and really really intelegant at that moment in time...went to get my pizza....well.....while i got it fine..i was heading home..as i pulled into traffic..i saw a set of head lights..so i gave it the "gas"..and went home...as i was crossing the parkinglot..i saw redlights and head on the PA..david!!! stop!!!....uh oh....turns out those headlights were a friend..wont say his name...but he was a local cop..he stopped me saw how drunk i was..said dude..i cant let yaa go because of what you did,,so he called the sheriffs office and they hauled me in.....BTW that cop and i are STILL good friends to this day....
but one time after that,i had boought a 24 pack of beer,i was alone here in my rv,i drank all of it..i then went and bought an 18 pack,,drank that...i then DROVE to oldtown and drank in my favorite bar,,had atleast 6 more there....went to 7/11 and bought a second 24 pack ( ok case) and drank that....realise how much beer that is?......i then went to bed..BTW i had norco and two other narcotic based meds in me as well...i was sick for 4 days....couldnt get out of bed the first two.....
i havent had anything alcoholic since...and NO im not bragging about any of this...i could have killed an innocent person.......its just a shame i didnt do me...
