I am making a whole series of missions from various LW and RAF POVs fro the morning and afternoon raids on BoB Day; 15th. September 1940. It's not that easy to make as historically accurate as possible, given the constraints of CFS3 and my mission making abilities!:dizzy: A lot of work still to do!

Labels on to show what's happening with the RAF beginning to engage and the 109 escort also starting to react. The TAC display gives an idea of the number of aircraft in the immediate vicinity; even more further out!

What the mission builder image looks like. In addition to what is easy to see, there are multiple flights with the same wp info; only the altitude is altered. This is the only successful way I have found to have formations actually in close proximity. The other way is to alter the Lat and Long figues, but that is a lot more difficult and a lot more trial and error. The RAF is all there in hidden spawns; at least 22 squadrons.

Great to see what can be created with scripted missions :applause:. You have put in a power of work on these!

Sadly, formations are much harder to set up in the BoB campaigns, because as soon as you exceed 8 aircraft in a formation, you sometimes get "double-ups" with two planes in the formation flying on top of each other - a real immersion-killer. There are old studies of formation types which suggest that some formations like "shotai" can handle more aircraft, I'll have to look into it more.

I'm looking forward to flying toward such a daunting armada!
 
Yeah I noticed the 'double up' effect, which is fatal if with the player ac!:biggrin-new: So really either adjustment to altitude 20-50m, or small Lat Long adjustments seems the only way. I am assuming that CCFS3 formation choices are hardwired, or I could think of different ones for bombers. talking of big missions, I think I will finish off BoB with the big September 7th raid. All useful info for when I get back to TOW Era 1, the Blitz, and the 1000 bomber raids!
 
Now KG2 is on it's way and it seems many of the top and close escorts are not around. Just the odd 110!
