It's been 18 months, almost to the day, since I last fired up FS9 and went for a virtual flight. I took a new position at work which required a long training and certification process. I had to study regularly and just couldn't make the time to go "up for a spin". Last week I was able to get finish up all of the certifications and finally tonight I was able to complete a few short flights.

It's amazing how much I have forgotten (that's a disclaimer for all the dumb questions I will be asking...again :icon_lol:). I spent about 30 minutes trying to remember keyboard commands and the joystick buttons...still have not figured it all out.

Apparently I was in the process of setting up several FS9's because I only have military aircraft installed, and the shortcut was labeled "MilAir"...I have to go read up on how to do that again, though I may stick with what I have for now and set up one for GA once a get re-acclimated with basics again.

Welcome back! 18 months away....boy, do you have a LOT of catching up to do. So many wonderful planes have been released, so many wonderful skins...and version 2 of the HDE Clouds and Sky has been released, and it's even more awe inspiring than version 1.

OBIO

Oh, check out Lionheart's freeware Boeing 797 or what ever it is....super poly count model...something like 15 billion polygons...it's BEAUTIFUL!

Thanks OBIO! Yes, I have a lot of catching up to do. My "problem" is that I like starting flights with the aircraft parked, engines off, all systems off. Then go thru the whole start up process...adds a bit of "reality"...which can take time. At least it takes me a while because I was never that gifted in flight sim.

I'll check out Lionheart's Boeing, I'm more into military planes but I have his Epic LT and Kodiak Adventure, and they are some of my favorite aircraft.

Oops, I missed the second release of the HDE Clouds. Do you have a link of where I can get them? Thanks.

WB RayRey,

Sounds like you really knew your way around in setting up separate versions of FS9. I still havent put Golden Wings and Silver Wings back on my unit. I should do that when I get some spare time.

I love how fast it boots up...

Not really Bill. I only did one install and never did the other one(s). I'm not much into older aircraft but Golden Wings has always interested me. I would like to have a civilian FS9 and a military FS9 and perhaps GW. I read some previous threads on how to do, now I have to find the time.

My issue was how do I get Flight Environment and Real Environment Pro on all installs? I asked the question a long while ago but no replies... http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/showthread.php?t=3165&highlight=multiple+installs

Right now I'm just trying to get re-acclimated with FS9. It took me about 5 minutes to figure out how to open a door.
