Anybody know Endangered Species with Robert Urich? I just found a copy and watched it for the first time in years. It had a modified Bell UH-1A fitted with baffles and fins to reduce noise. They made a real one that flew, no chincy computer generated aircraft in this one. I'll try to post some screen caps for anyone interested in creating a one-off, hint hint.

Wow! I haven't watched that movie in a LONG time! (10+ yrs) Have it recorded off TV on VHS.
Loved the part near the end when what's-his-face explodes after using his chemecally laced toothbrush!
Makes you wonder how much truth there is/was in that movie.
That sort of stuff is still going on. Was even in the main stream news not that long ago.

Where were these noise suppressing "baffles and fins" located?

Since most of the racket generated by a turbine-powered helicopter comes from the rotors I'm curious to know how they made it quieter.

Well come on it's hollywood, I don't think they really silenced a Huey. As I remember a couple of Vietnam Loaches were quieted by altering the rotor geometry and stepping-down the hot exhaust gas.
As for this movie chopper the grainy screen caps tell the tale. Neat story though.

OK why are these black?

Now why are they gone?

Well, simple explanation is that Windows Player displays movies as a second layer behind. What you are capturing is the top layer, or window.

I know someone around here can explain it better. :icon_lol:
