For anyone that does not want to see what a confirmed combat report looks like in the log please do not go any further.

Right now I am 2 for 2 on my first two submitted at 100 Realism (after 8 pilot campaign deaths wihtout one kill or combat report submitted, I'm praying this last)

BTW I did fly a couple of experimental QC missions that apprently were set to record to log (no kills or anything like that just messing around) all 3 were recorded on 14/9 and then got confirmation on same day for original claim etc. So you will notice , claim submitted and confimration on same day.

Congrats on breaking the code. But for true militareese, you've got to write the report in 3d person, passive tense with lots and lots of undecipherable acronyms.

Flying with RFC6 in Be2C's I managed to shoot down a balloon south of Lens, & just below Haubourdin & Palempin aerodromes, whilst on an observation mission, on my return to base, although the replay shows the Balloon was destroyed, I never got the claim form come up for it!!! :banghead:

I suppose that I have the deep satisfaction that I've served his majesty the king!!!

I had the same thing last night on a balloon mission.

I have also had a few missions were the review confirmed that I had shot down aircraft, but the claims never came up, and my stats (bullets fired, hits) were all zero. Anyone else ever see that?

Only happened a few times, and I can't find a repeatable pattern to it so far, but if I do i will report. Seemed to be on Scramble missions but I don't have enough to go on, as it is a rare occurance.
 
You only get to claim a balloon if assigned a ballon busting mission and then getting the target. The claim form should pop up when you exit the mission (I have not been so luck yet in Phase 3).

If you shoot down a baloon on any other mission, it just counts as a ground target, so no claim.

I wonder if that could change in the future? It would be very cool to go "free hunting " on enemy balloons even when it is not assigned..
 
That's great - this team did a jolly good job!
Can't wait 'till tomorrow. I'll fill in my next report much more detailed then.
