20% Off Wilco at Aerosoft...One Question

I like it, but...
It's heavy on the frame rates.
It is a few years old now, shows its age a bit, IMHO.
The default flight dynamics are, lets say odd at times.
The transitions from hover to flight or back to a hover can be frustrating.

However...

Rob Barendregt released a V(S)TOL/Hovering gauge for the Tiltrotor, version 4 of that gauge last September.
I know its available at AVSim, if you do a search for his last name.
He has very detailed instructions in the file on how to do the modification.

It makes the Tiltrotor and the Osprey from Virtavia fly like they should, IMHO.
Smooth transitions from a hover into flight and back to hover.
Hovers much better as well.

If you are confident in modifying the panel.cfg and adding Rob's VTOL/Hover gauge, and your system can handle framerate heavy aircraft, then I would recommend getting it, on sale.
To be honest it was out of my virtual hangar until Rob created the gauge for it, now I use it from time to time when I want the benefits of a helicopter for landing, but want to travel some distance in sim.

Thank you Dain!

Your fairly detailed response caused me to go in a different direction. I know the Wilco model has an automobile with it, but I don't have FSX for the cars. (I purchased the 50% off Osprey.) Thanks again.

Sure, you're welcome.
Definitely install Rob's VTOL/Hover gauge for the Osprey then.
It's magic. :mixedsmi:
