The thirteenth annual FS Round the World Race is scheduled to start on Saturday, February 21, 2015.

In this event, pilots fly for teams who run a baton race around the globe in real time and real weather. All pilots are invited to participate. For details, you can go to the official FS Round the World Race website. And for an introduction to how the event works, you might visit the Introduction to the Round the World Race.

If you are interested, you can join up with one of the teams: the event is a challenge and all teams need pilots. You can go directly to the "Race Forum" for each of the participating teams. At the team forums, you should find a thread that welcomes new participants. See:

You will be warmly welcomed.

I've never taken part before but would like to step up to the plate for SOH, so long as Prepar3d is given the green light.

The Flying Stations Sea Fury is on the White List this time, which is excellent!

That's great Andy! Let's hope it happens. Welcome to the SOH RTWR Team. :)

Welcome Andy. Good to have you aboard!

First off I'd like to say Good Luck to Team SOH .... all the best to each of you on every flight you make!

Secondly .... Rob, I don't see anything that resembles your first post to this thread on Flight Sim's forum.

I need to copy and paste this info there.

Two Rookies active there so far and they don't have any clarity on what their about to take on.

The included links to Eamonn's brilliant webpage(s) will be just what they need.

Thanks in advance and once again Good Luck to all!

Okay,
I have now read all the rules and still want to assist SOH in winning this thing.

I defer to you all to tell me what aircraft are best.

I had hoped David Copeley's P-38 was available with drop tanks for FS9 like in CFS2.
Apparently it is not.
My second choice was an F4U Corsair with drop tanks.

But, with the 750nm limit per leg I guess that is a moot point.

Welcome DD73! Glad to have you aboard!

DCC's P-38s do have drop tanks, but they are commented out in the aircraft.cfg by default. Just un-comment the appropriate entries and you have 'em.

Just a heads-up to advise participants of potential start times for the 2015 Race.

Info is posted in the NOTAM section of the RTW Race site

Thanks for the heads up, Rob.

An earlier start (if that is what happens) is a good thing. More use of the weekend, and therefore perhaps less incursion into the working week, is helpful to those of us that work Monday-Friday.
