Shafto,

Sounds like your anti-virus is giving a preemptive red flag. The installer should be clean, I verified it with Bit Defender Internet Security 2015 before I uploaded it.

Shafto,

I thought of something else...what is your OS? From Windows 7 on, the default Windows settings include the User Account Control (UAC) feature. It's basically Windows 7's babysitting feature. I turned that off in the control panel after about thirty minutes because I didn't like being asked "are you sure" before doing anything on my computer.

If I wanted someone to nag me, that's what wives, girlfriends, and mothers are for. (It's safe to put this, because they are not fond of computers)

My os is windows 8 and MacAfee anti virus protection. I'm not too computer savvy at my age to figure how to fix this Thanks Shafto

20th FG ccampaing

I finally got 20th auto install to work but can't find the campaign under selecting in the cfs panel only the pacific campaign shows up I hope I'm not too much a bother Thanks again Shafto

No bother at all! Are you using the expanded country.cfg file? It is the one that has US Army Air Corps (or USAAC) on it. If not, that could cause the problem you are having.

Edit: OOPS! I was posting mine at the same time as Rami! :encouragement:

Good evening,

I reconfigured the readme files and updated the auto-installers to include the expanded country.cfg file and provided more detailed instructions and explanations. Sorry if this was confusing in any way, but you are not the first flyer to have issues, so it was time to fix them!

file didn't help

I added the zip file to the main CFS2 but the campaign still won't show up in the campaign menu. hope you can help thanks Shafto

Shafto,

Just checking, you unzipped Shadow Wolf's zipfile to a temporary location, & placed the contents (the country.cfg file) in the main CFS2 folder.:icon_question:

Did it then ask you to overwrite the current file (of the same name)? If so, did you say yes? The answers give us clues as to what's going on with your install.

Rami,

Where does the auto-installer point to by default? This might be especially pertinent given it's a WIN 8 O/S & a non-tech savvy user (no offence meant here Shafto).:icon_redface:

John,

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 2 :bee:

auto installer is in the main cf2 folder

I checked the campaign folder to see if there were any 20th files in there the only ones are for the war in the pacific, same thing for the mission files. when I added the country zip file there was no overwrite. hope this helps and thanks again Shafto

Shafto,

I set up the auto-installer to point at C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Combat Flight Simulator 2. If you have this as the location of the installation, then you have been fine. If your installation is located elsewhere or under a different name, you use the "browse" feature to let the auto-installer know where to put the files, so that you have essentially "pointed" to where / which sim you would like to install all of the files to install the campaign.

I figured that wasn't a big leap.
