saturday i went to comicon here in toronto. i took pics of gil gerrard, and erin gray, who by the way, is still very hot) melody anderson (also still totally hot) adrain curry (dressed as wonder woman) ernie hudson from the ghostbusters, and laugh if you want, but my favorite one was peter brady. of course, i couldn't bring myself to go up and talk to any of these people, but i did take lots of pics. sadly, i accidently deleteted every single one of them. hence the title of this thread. there was a ton of pro wrasslers there, but i never was much of a fan so the only ones i recognized was the iron sheik and hacksaw jim duggan. there was also a handful of raunchy women there that were supposed to be hot but were just scary. i think they used to be wrasslers too. there was a ton of really cool art. lucky for me i don't have any money. i would have spent too much. i love to see all the people going around in costumes. i wish i could have went as zebraman. i can almost garantee no one would have known who the heck that is. i originally went because we took the kids, but i ended up having more fun than they did i think.

CF,

Henry has a way of saving pictures on cards. If you were saving to a small SD card, he may be able to save them.

(I thought that was Japanese Kanji but couldnt figure out why you were rattling away in french in Kanji)

Man that sucks, I feel your pain, been there, done that. Sounds like a good time, I was planing a trip to Vancouver in April for their convention since everyone in the Stargate world was going to be there, but doesn't look like it's going to happen now.

Yup, if you haven't taken any more pics since you've deleted the MIA ones you might be able to salvage them.

I think there is a thread down in the Photography forum that lists a few of the recovery utilities. there are some freebies in the bunch.
If you can't find it, just post this down there too and someone can help point you in the right direction.

So...you might not be out of luck just yet. Hope you can get a few of em back!

they werent taken with a camera. we forgot the camera and were using the phone. does that make a difference?

Cheezy, what type of phone, they all use flash memory and the recovery utilitues are designed for Flash memory. If you are able to connect the camera to a PC and access the device memory as if it is a disk drive you stand a chance at recovery. I have one of the free utilities on my laptop and used it a couple of time, both time I had 100% success.

i cannot connect directly. i have this little chip that i have to save stuff to, and then the chip goes into the back of a usb key, which plugs into a port. when i initially did it, the computer said the files were corrupt, so i formatted the chip thinking i could re-load the pics. then my wife told me that the phone doesn't save the files to the chip, it moves the files to the chip, and they aren't on the phone anymore.

CF. See if you can.

By the way, formating doesnt always 'clean' drives. You can still find pictures and things on them. Only if you write zero's and ones' on the drive will it then be erased. Government groups like the USAF that sell used drives require 3 runs of overwriting zeros' onto used drives to completely clean them, no data left.

The reason you do not see the files is because they are not 'linked'. The data is still floating on them.

OK Cheezy, that Chip is a Micro SD card, and if you formatted it well it might be too late, but you can still try. If it ever happens again you should allow the OS to recover the files when it prompts you to and do not format, the recovery process in Vista and Win 7 works fairly well , formatting flash media is often pretty final, it is not like magnetic media when it comes to leaving traces behind, but never say die.

Here is the link to the tools I use, and they are fairly good, they actually offer seperate versions for the various cards and if you have the MiniSD as I suspect they have a utility just for it. Good luck, I would love to see the pics...

Cheezy,

You mentioned Pro Wrestling (wrassling). I was never into it either, but my neighbor was, while growing up in Indianapolis. Back in the 60s, Big Time Wrestling was just beginning to get popular. Nothing like the craze it is today. But I recall a few of the names from that era:

Dick The Bruiser

Mad Dog Vachon

and The "Sheik" He used to have a girl with him, dressed up with a veil, etc...and he'd beat her around the ring......

Mad Dog Vachon

Mad Dog is still around (Not wrestling) At Christmas time he set's up a Kiosk at my local mall selling all kinds of stuff including autographed photos of himself. He's still a big guy but really soft spoken. Nice guy. I remember him wrestling on TV Saturday afternoon's when I was a kid.

You shoulda talked to Erin Gray....she is very approachable and has a good sense of humor! She was at a Wizard World in Chicago a few shows back and I spent about 20 minutes speaking with her.

Another approachable person is Lou Ferrigno. Despite his size, he's a nice guy and will spend time with everyone that wants to chat.

Cheezy, I'm the same way regarding money...I always try to budget how much I'm going to spend but nearly ALWAYS blow it. There's always this one little thing that I just have to get.....:icon_lol:

Glad you had a good time!
