4gb patch wont execute

Morning all, iv`e been using this 4 gb patch for some time as it eliminates all CTD`s but now on a fresh install it wont patch the CFS3.exe,any clues?

Sorry folks, i figured it out, you have to apply attributes to the file,eg CFS3 ETO Expansion,properties,click on read only,apply,ok,let the attributes run then it will revert back to read only,apply patch,ok,and the sim sees all 4gb, works for me.alarm bells off!

Just to be clear, you're saying that you had to set the file attributes to be read only so it can't be modified in order to modify it, or did you turn read only off?

Hi Major,when i open properties in the file,eg CFS3 ETO Expansion_Rev 1.4 in (X86) read only/apply it automatically runs the attributes,this allows the 4 GB patch to run successfully.the file resets itself to read only,i find this helps with CTD`s which i had earlier sans the 4 GB patch.

Having the read only attribute turned on would prevent the patch from being able to modify the exe file. Maybe I'm misreading what you've done.
 
Just checked

Major iv`e checked all my installs in (X86) the files are read only but 4GB patch runs as is.
this is on win 7 64 bit.
