Anyone know where I can find a 50 Gal. drop tank for the Iris P 40's?They are lacking a 50 Gal Drop tank and I can't find one anywhere.

How 'bout trying this one? If this doesn't work, open up the dp file in the aircraft folder and give me the name of the tank from there.

Nope ,I have that one, this is the line from the DP file,[PAYLOAD.1](,of course it has the [PAYLOAD.1] over the whole line ,but I couldn,t get it to look like that.)
; Payload = Guns Only Long Range
mount.1=wep_pylon_us_cl
mount.2=drop_tank_50gal, 1, -1
Please don't go to a lot of trouble over this ,if you can do it easely ,ok but it's a Holiday weekend don,t put yourself out..

Hi hurricane! I may have a solution to your problem. I did an extensive search last night, and I couldn't locate a drop tank with the name "drop_tank_50gal" either. It seemed rather odd that the creator of the aircraft did not have the drop tank entry in the DP file match up with what was in the OBJECTS DP and SCENEDB folders concerning the drop tank that came with this aircraft. It's almost like it was an error on his part when he made the entry in the DP file. Anyway that being said this is what I did. First I deleted the CDP file. Next (assuming you had already installed the contents of your OBJECTS DP and SCENEDB folders) I renamed the entry "drop_tank_50gal" to "wep_P40_drop" in your DP folder. Loaded the plane up and there the tank was!! Let me know what you think? Looks good to me, but you may or may not need to tweak the location a bit, up, down, forward, back to suit your taste. Hope this helps. The only problem is it will not drop off of the aircraft when activated to do so. Maybe somebody here can help with that particular problem.:salute:

couldn't get it to work for me
First, I'am sorry this is so late getting back to you,I had to mow my grass ,then I got sick and am just now (10:20 PM EST) getting back to the computer.I did put the entries in the Objects DPfile and also the Scene Dp, weapons ,scenery and texture files.
I went over all the entries in the Objects DP file but couldn't find a drop_tank_50gal entry.I did find two entries related to P-40's ,the first said wep_P40_drop.dp and the other said wep pylon.dp. These might be related to the other P-40's that I do have installed that aren't IRIS ,and have working drop tanks,like the 52 gal one from the Australian addon DOA.
I went to the IRIS site and they said they were working on it but because of the time difference it might take a while.
I have no idea why the line drop_tank_50 gal ,isn't in my objects dp file ,but I guess I just have to wait on IRIS to reply.
