SOH-CM-2014
I was rummaging through some pics and saw some handsome private 727s frolicking around St Maarten. Are there any such non-commercial paints for the Vistaliners SilverJet 727? I've searched the usual haunts without success. The 727 is one of my top ten favorites for looks and I'd love to see one in skivvies.

The Historic Jetliners Group 727 uses the same models as the Vistaliner and have a bunch of liveries for the 727. Not sure about any non-airlines ones though. They also have a paintkit.

The 727 is one of the few tubes that I do like. (The DH Comet and Lockheed TriStar are the others)

Sorry aeromed202 I don't know where to find the repaint but I almost spit a mouth full soda on my monitor when I read your post! :bump:

The 727 is probably the only tubeliner I fly. I have the Captain Sim version and love it, because you don't need autopilot to fly it...actually I haven't figured out the autopilot but I wouldn't use it anyways.

I'm not 100% certain, but I don't think that HJG supports anything but real-life commercial liveries. But I'm sure that if you contact some of the painters around here, you might be able to persuade one to sling a little paint for you.

... i guess i could take a look, let me just clear this Bf109B paintkit off my books and i'll slot your 722 in :salute:

EDIT: Fullside Master Template in progress

I scanned HJG pretty thoroughly and though I warmed some copper DL'ing some beauty commercial paints, I saw no privates. To be sure, their AC, especially the 727s are wonderful fliers right out of the box. Haven't taught myself to paint yet so I'll just bribe with some suds.:icon29:

fullside master for the -200 series is underway....:jump:

i'm kinda enjoying this 'strip her down and give her new clothes' full side creation... will allow more complex schemes to be done much more easilly....

just an update to let y'all know how the Masters are going...... shadows, shine, panel lines are all now on, time to add the details (doors, windows Etc....)

The second photo looks like the plane is taking the main road into town!

I would love to see more private/VIP Boeings for FS, in particular the CS 727 100 in view of its great VC and systems. If you search avsim for e.g. "727 private and/or VIP" you will actually find a number of good repaint examples - except they are for AI aircraft.

right then.... my masters are pretty much done, lighting sorted, rivets added etc....... any ideas which to do first or do i do an SoH VIP-Jet :icon_lol:

Sir you made my day. The SOH biz jet has merit but I worry that agreement on the final scheme might be elusive. Let your conscience and inspiration guide you. :icon29::icon29: as promised.

no worries, will get cracking, see what i can come up with, great part about having a fullside is scheme can be mapped out in entirety to preview... might just use the trio of SoH Blues in an attractive pattern, but we'll see..... :jump::salute: oddly i'm looking forwards to painting this in some schemes

Nothing odd about painting a shapely figure. Hadn't thought of blue stripes as a segue to an SOH livery but I can imagine it would look sharp.

The last time I was there (about two months ago) there were at least two private 727s on the ramp at Southeast Georgia Regional Airport on the other side of Brunswick. Interested in seeing what they look like?

An impressive effort, from seed to flower in one day. People here are amazing. So here she is gracing the ramp at TNCM (had to get on top of a bus to get this one). We'll have to add those interior shots of movie stars too.
