A-1 Skyraider

SKYRAIDER COCKPITS

I seem to be having a problem with the views in the Skyraiders. No matter what I do I cannot get the VCpanel to show. It seems to be stuck on the 256AD1 panel (first picture) and I cannot get the VCpanel or AD1panel (2nd and third pic) to show. In the center of the windscreen I get my sight but thats it. I have **** and printed it out for reference to follow and still can't get the views beyond 256. Does the panel cfg have to be changed or is it something else.? What am I doing wrong here?

Here is what I get

This is what I get with the TR_1H_Skyraider TR_AD-2_Skyraider and the TR_AD-6_Skyraider (see pic below.........2d and VC)

Here is the panel.cfg file text.......

Rock, maybe I am misunderstanding what would show up, but I would believe that it would be like picture #2 in my post for one screenie. Am I misinterpreting things and making a mountain out of nothing?

Polygons in Virtual Cockpit........limitations

I posted the above to show what the download currently does for everyone..........and what it is capable of at this point............which is great........I appreciate all that Tango Romeo and fox four gives us for free.........

I guess you need to understand how a virtual cockpit works........

1. There is a 3D model of the cocpit that you sit in or have a visual 3D point you can pan around in.

2. there are two flat screen polygons somewhere in front of you that you can project onto........these polygons are down and below your line of sight ...........

3. if the texture is not to the dimensions of these polygons......it will get clipped so you can see out the cockpit.......I think that is what is going on.......

4. Tango Romeo might not have the model to fix this issue and cannot make the virtual polygons any different???You would need an extra polygon for the gunsight or a bigger poly???

ROCK

Don't misconstrue what I am trying to say. I believe that TR , and crew, should be commended for their efforts and love flying the SPADS. I have just been trying to figure out why I get a VC that is no where near what you are posting, yet it is in the folder. My F4 view is all darkened and enlarged. Attempting to get a screen shot through clipboard but can't seem to attach it here.

Ok.......

Hmmmmmm.........???? I am stumped.......sorry if I sounded off.....text chat sometime delivers different than intended.......all good here......

check the above posted default panel.cfg against your skyraider panel.cfg...........see if the text match.........you may have an altered cfg???

Backup your current panel folder somewhere........then delete the one in you aircraft folder (you have just backed up) for that skyraider........then download one of the first versions of a clean TR_skyraider updated.......don't use anything from the Fox Four Skyraiders.........except the guages.........you may have mixed and matched panels files.........

guages only in the guage folder from fox four.........

copy the newly downloaded panel folder into the skyraider you like........

Other than that...........I am at a loss.........

Third Screen

There is a third screen available in this panel. There's the Low Panel view with lots of goodies like AP and GPS (both mousable). SHIFT+4 will call that up, if you are using the FS/CFS1 keyboard. If you are using the CFS2 keyboard, I have forgotten the Cycle Panels command. AND IF you will program/assign a key to toggle Window 3, you will have a HeadsUp display too. It's in the Panel Instructions.txt doc. It all works as advertised. The only discrepancy is that the VC panel is not an exact duplicate of the regular panel. AND IT CANNOT BE because the 2D panel is multi-screened.

Nole; That is not the problem. All the views work as per instructions, the problem is that my vc is darkened and no where like what Rock has displayed.

Delete 256HUDAD4

Backup 256HUDAD4.bmp from your panel folder............

Then delete it.............but you won't get the f9 box numbers to work right......

but I don't use that anyway....

I have to say this is one complexed panel.cfg..........but I am a purist

If that doesn't work resolution and video issues????

The VC is a 16 million colors ..........while the others are 256??? which I can't remember .......change image settings to 1024 x 768 and 32 bit if you can?????

I better back off........I am now out of my league.......this is a complex panel......beyond anything I put out.......

Mine does get stuck in F9.............so fiddle with the F keys.........F7 F5 back to F9 .........Then clear out back to F4 and F3

Like I said..........I am the purist........more complex means......cluster cross up.............I just stick to F4 and F3

Fibber

1) A screenie of what you are looking at would be a great help. 2) I hate to ask this, BUT is it possible that your panel is just in shadow because of the sun's position/time of day? I have seen this simple situation darken panels in the past....no sunlight. It is, in fact, a problem with TR's B-25s.

ROCK/NOLE

Rock; looked in the panel cfg. and it is complex. I already have it at 1024x760x32 and no go. Funny that it fills the whole screen and darkened with only half the panel showing.

Nole; I tried but for some reason I can't get to link here. I will try the changing of the day.

Followed the manual so that is why I am perplexed usually when I **** I have no problems.

This is not a game changer but I like to try to have all my planes views behave the same way if I can.

I did notice that the new A's have the same panel cfg as the AEW1.

May be a silly question but will just rewritting additions/subtractions in the cfg help the image, or does it need to be done using the cfgedit program. Given that there will be no addition or subtraction of the gauges.

Very Nice...

I finally had some time to load this bird to the sim. A real nice job!
My thanks go out to the crew for getting this one out.

Fibber

Try hitting the minus key (-) one time after opening the VC....because the VC opens in a closeup. I don't think there is anything wrong with your install at all.

CFS2 prefers 256 colours per bmp, if one of the bmp's is different it may make a difference to how the others are viewed.

New Tank BGLS

Tango_Romeo has created new drop and a ferry tank BGLs for this A-1J bird, and she has some nice new loadouts too. Great addition to the line.
