A Bit Of Sanity - No ATC & No Silly AI Traffic

I've been contemplating BATC for MSFS2024 and while reading the info I came across this copy and paste from their website on setting up BATC. I just made these changes even without their program and it works. Gets rid of the incredibly annoying and useless ATC. Plus it removes every AI aircraft. No more mix of ugly models with good models, taxiing gliders making Cessna noises, parked aircraft hanging up off the ground, aircraft popping in and out for no apparent reason. etc.


I am really close to purchasing BATC tonight and seeing what it throws back in. With MSFS's history of fixing the ATC and AI aircraft behavior I'm not sure I have any faith in those elements getting fixed anytime in the near future. Also, I wasn't originally planning on purchasing any MSFS2024 add-ons until a good portion of the things on my missing from free flight must haves list, but it sounds like BATC might cure two of the biggies.

The AI using this range of models including third party content is also a problem for performance possibly. If a model does not properly utilize LODs and there are a number of them parked over an airport, that might cirple the performance. I also don't like it really when developers set their aircraft as available for AI traffic for this reason and for them being out of place often, specifically rare or military aircraft popping up somewhere. Or JFK being overcrowded with Concorde's like they grow on trees. I also created a batch script to go through the community folder for FS2020 and disable these lines for all playable aircraft / liveries in the community folder. Might be a good idea to also update this to 24 (if it's not the same lines anyway).

This could be an interesting solution for the problem but as far as I understand it, it currently mostly excludes VFR traffic.
