A challenge for you DC-3 historians..

In 1989, there was a made-for-tv movie made called, "The Road Raiders", starring Bruce Boxleitner and Tia Carrere. It was filmed just south of Jacksonville, FL. At the time, I was stationed at NAS Cecil Field. My two sons were extras in the movie, plus I had a 1952 Willys M38 jeep that was featured in the opening scene.

My question for you DC-3 experts, is the about the aircraft used in this movie. Am wondering if this aircraft still is flying, and was the paint scheme with "Georgia Boys" only for this movie? I am sure the tail number is fictitious. I was not able to get a closeup screenshot of the aircraft serial number, unfortunately, or tracking down the information would have been easier. I am including a picture of the jeep I had, plus the aircraft in question. NC

Nope. the tail number is not ficticious; it was the tail code for RDAF service. The orange nose was day-glo in RDAF service. Go to planepictures.net/search and search "K-683".
