A compatability question for any aircraft modeler willing to answer

I am curious of the compatability and/or differences between aircraft models written for CFS/CFS2/CFS3/FS 2004/& FSX..... are any of the MS flight sim aircraft compatable with others? Meaning, could I use an aircraft copied from FS 2004 in my CFS3 installation? Or from FSX? I have just noticed some aircraft in other MS sims that I would love to fly in my CFS3 game....

Thanks

CFS3 is incompatible with all the other MS flight sims. You would need to obtain the original GMAX source file and modify it substantially before exporting it as an m3d file. Do not try this unless you are familiar with building CFS3 aircraft. It is not as easy as some people think, quite the opposite.

FS98 and CFS1 are entirely compatible. CFS2 can use FS98, FS200 and many FS2002 aircraft, but as these do not have LODs, be prepared to see your frame rates in single figures. And you need to make a DP file for the imported aircraft in both CFS1 and 2.

As far as I know, CFS2 will not accept FS2004 aircraft, and certainly will not accept FSX ones.

Scenery is more-or-less compatible between FS98 and CFS1, but FS2000/2002 and CFS2 is a bit iffy.
