Bonus: Who can tell me where the real world counter-part to this aircraft is today?

It looks gorgeous, Joseph! I seem to recall that that one is owned by Kermit Weeks and has been under restoration at Precision in Australia. The aim of course is to fly it when the restoration is completed, someday down the road.

(Somewhat related, contained within the estate of the late Walter Soplata is the Thomspon Trophy air racer FG-1A Corsair "92" - which may, eventually, fly again as well.)

John,

Right you are on NX63382. In fact some recent photos of the restoration prove exciting, and I do hope Weeks takes her to the skies.

I'm under the impression that since 2000, numerous parts of #92 have been recovered from the Soplata estate, and are kept in storage?

And in regards to FSX, and #92, it's almost ready too.

I'm greatly looking forward to these, Joseph! Both schemes are very iconic. Regarding '92', the only information I recall reading at some point, was that the fuselage was stored in Walt's basement (there is also a complete un-restored since Navy service (absolute time capsule) FG-1D in the Soplata estate).

Wow. That is interesting for sure!

Should be releasing this expansion pack soon! There are too many details to list right now. Just about finished up the documentation, and we'll be ready!

Another teaser;

We're diagnosing some engine issues. Wanted to stutter on final approach this evening, with low fuel, and moderate CHT's. Then wouldn't start back up. Need to run some system checks....
