A Couple of Dumb Questions

In the set-up menu, there is an item for weapon effectiveness. Default is normal. Does this apply to all weapons, friendly, mine and the enemy? Or is it just for mine?
When using the A key to have the wingmen attack, do you have to select a target for them, or do they pick their own? They don't seem too bright, I turned and they flew straight, even after I hit R repeatedly. The last mission, two of the dumkoffs flew into each other on take-off and crashed. Finallt, for now, what does the S command do? I know in CFS2 it seperates the formation, but beyond that, it doesn't seem to useful.

The "S" means "Split", the wingmen will leave tight formation. To get them flying with you, you should not fly full throttle first. I fly with 85 % throttle, until they are up with me (after pressing "R" several times), only then I give it full throttle.
In "Quick mission" and in "Campaign", I think I found out, that the wingmen get easily "confused", when you start with them. Since, I wait, until they are airborne, and then start myself. Since I do so, they didn't have made any accidents at starts anymore.
About the weapon effectiveness, I don't know.

PS: none of the questions was dumb, for my opinion.

Easiest way to describe weapon effectiveness:
NORMAL - Your Vickers or Spandau

Strong - WWII .30 Cal MG

Strongest - WWII .50 Cal MG without a coin slot :ernae:

My impression about the weapon's effectiveness is that it applies to your weapons only, but I might be wrong about that. Perhaps one of the developers will happen by and give you the definitive answer.

As far as the wingmen are concerned, I simply have no idea. I do have a session booked for them on Freud's couch in the near future so perhaps I can report back after that. :icon_lol:
