I used to have somewhat of an 'anti-dog park' opinion, because I've always felt that the whole world is a dog park and if you have an obediant dog, they should be allowed off the leash any place withing reason. Obviously that excludes stores and such, I'm more referring to public parks. Sadly, there are few places left where you can take your dog to let loose.
My dog has been angering the neighbors with her howling and barking when I'm gone, so I have been taking her to the dog park regularly for a couple weeks now to get her socialized and tire her out. It pretty hilarious to see all the dogs and their owners, and the dogs have a blast since the parks are a central gathering point. At any given time there may be 40 dogs in the one we go to, and they know how to get down. I couldn't resist sharing a few pictures.
If only I could smile like this! This is my gigantic bloodhound puppy. She's just about a a year old, and of course I named her Memphis Belle. I'm an airplane nut and she's a southern girl.
I've clearly observed that the more of a clown the owner is, the dog usually follows suit.
