A little competitive flying

A couple years ago I worked up an event plan. It focused on good flight route planing and then good flying.

The basics would require certain checkpoint airports be hit, along with a few other airports from a list of possibilities. Which would allow a great number of possible routes.

The plan was to require that four different aircraft be used - your choice of piston or turboprop aircraft. The goal would be x number of NM flown in x number of hours and x number of legs. Who ever is closest wins.

It would require a fairly high overall average speed but not a flat out speed competition.

Anyone interested?

Sounds interesting, but I'd lean more to just picking one aircraft and going with it. (Too many aircraft in the hanger and I'd be like a dog with a bag of bones... wouldn't know where too start ;))

Am pretty certain my racing days are behind me, but I'll take a look at the rules and such before I commit.
