A Mosquito No No!

I decided to try out the Mosquito I downloaded this past week by flying a fairly short hop from Warraber Island to Horn Island off the north coast of Australia. A distance of approx 49nm and normally not a long flight in a chopper. . . .NOT!

That area (Torres Strait) just happened to be strong winds and rough seas at the time and that 49nm seemed like it took hours, lol I have to say that after flying over calm water for the past month or two it was nice to see some white caps and water movement. Even along the beaches you could see the waves rolling in.
Back to the Mosquito, it is not the ideal Chopper for that kind of weather. The narrow fuselage in high winds was similar, I would imagine, to an 18 Wheeler in a hurricane. There were a few times I was pitched almost vertical. Anyway, made it and was glad to be on the ground. No more Choppers in that area unless I make the weather, lol.

I would have posted some pics but I had my hands full!!

Hello guys,

If you are interested by Mosquito aircraft ...
In 2012, following a visit to the La Ferté-Alais festival (which is an air meeting similar to that of Old Rhinebeck for USA), I met a group of enthusiasts (RRAA association) who reproduced a Mosquito at 0.75 scale in the Fontenay le Comte region (near Bordeaux in France).
After discussing and sympathizing, I opened a project to model it for FSX and Prepar3D. It was very well received by french simmers.

The actual plane flew for a few years but unfortunately had a serious accident in June 2015. Since thanks to the courage and tenacity of Michel BOGAERT, the "captain of this project," the plane has been rebuilt again and should be able to fly again.
The history and images of this fabulous plane in which I was able to enter the cockpit in 2012 : https://www.facebook.com/mousquito.75/?locale=fr_FR

Last year while sorting through my hard drives, I found this GMax project that I put back in Blender.

The Mosquito's cockpit as it was when I created it for FSX:

It need some modifications (textures PBR, more details, gauges 3D) but it was possible to upgrade this add-on and to make a pretty aicraft for MSFS 2020.
In 2012, Michel sent me a bunch of photos from the construction, unpublished photos and movies of the plane’s first flight at the hands of a former Airbus A320 pilot who had been his test pilot.

Just flew Dave's conversion Mosquito and despite no gauges and a run-away throttle I enjoyed the chance to fly the Mosquito again. What are the future prospects for this or another model?

On the 3D side, the whole was pretty well done for a Prepar3D aircraft, it is also always available on my site frenchvfr.free.fr:
=> http://frenchvfr.free.fr/download.php?lng=en&pg=808&tconfig=0
WARNING: the account/password to use are the information given in yellow highlighted just above the link, it is not necessary to open an account on my site to download

In order to make this Mosquito available for MSFS 2020 (and then for 2024), the most important step is to create 3D gauges for the VC, create some details and create PBR textures.
As it is a replica and not a really WW2 aircraft, gauges used by Michel Bogaert are actual and recent gauges so, it is possible to realize this step fairly quickly using others elements of other aircrafts.
It can be my next freeware for the first quarter 2024

For the pleasure of opening my virtual office and for DennyA in particular ( ;) ), I have a few others on my shelf with varying degrees of finish that I would like to finish one day.

I downloaded your "Hydro". . .what a fun airplane to fly. I have quite a few large and small lakes within a 50nm range so plenty of places to play. Below is one such area on our local lake (Lake Texoma).

Actually I just found what might be a better version than the one I have. Check here (NOTE: apparently this also requires another file as well and seems a bit more involved to get it flying. Try if you want, otherwise the one I have is below!
The one I have can be found here

Just a note, its a conversion of Dave's Mosquito, not Dave's conversion. He did not give his approval for this, but he seems less annoyed about it than I do.
