A peculiar view

Approaching Moulmein. Any aircraft I tried had this happen, but no where else in the Burma area has this occurred. Scenery IS installed correctly..

See this thread about Malta scenery issue. It looks similar to your issue.

Anomaly at Malta

When flying over Kalfrana seaplane base, my plane (any plane) break apart in to separate pieces, but once away from view, reforms back to how it should. What could be causing this?

Downloading the MR objects library fixed it.
 
Yep, that did it for me as well. I couldn't believe I did not already have that installed! Thanks again UT.
 
Well it must be a rogue object issue, as the scenery seems to display OK otherwise in the background.

It would be nice to know if other users are seeing this over Moulmein, as I don't see anything like this on my install...

IIRC, there aren't any objects used there that aren't used elsewhere in the Rangoon area, so if it isn't a rogue object ... :dizzy:
 
It’s actually the beacon light on the large water tank that causes it. There was a misaligned jump in the code which was updated a couple of years ago to remedy. Downloading the latest version will fix it.

Stoney, please use a freshly downloaded version of the MR Object Library & confirm that it solves your issue.
 
There are in fact two different files in the resource library now - mr_libobjs_complete.zip and MR_Library_Objects.zip. The timestamp on most if not all of the files in mr_libobjs_complete.zip is 2002, while the timestamp on the files in MR_Library_Objects.zip is 2023.

I assume that the update referred to by Aussie is in the later file - MR_Library_Objects.zip, so I think that is the file required to fix the problems in the thread “Anomaly at Malta” referred to above as well as this thread.

Perhaps the file mr_libobjs_complete.zip should be removed from the library ? ? ?

Good catch Ro,

Perhaps though, to retain the fidelity of the archived Maskrider site, we can change the link there to point to the new version?

😂 yes it was a pain finding the culprit object for one and then sifting through all the lines of code looking for the problem. The rabbit hole was deep but I’m a persistent old bugger.

Being a website within a website, I don't know if the MaskRider site downloads can be edited.

It is a nice tribute to Chris, although all his downloads are not only duplicated, but also a number have been updated in the main SOH CFS2 MaskRider Legacy section.

The same goes for NoDice's Free Flight Site to some extent. There is a mixture of duplicated and unique downloads by authors other than Dave Mulcahy on that site. A few of them have been updated in the main SOH library.

Any ideas to improve the library are welcome.

It’s pretty straightforward, just need to edit the links. I can’t remember off the top of my head which admin helped me get the MR up and running here but maybe Allen could take a look at it if he has time.

Yes, that new D/L made the fix. Thanks gentlemen I would have never thought of that. I was using a MR_library_Objects that I had from sometime ago.
 
I d/l'ed the MR objects again.You also have to check the Xavier object,we still had them from years ago and they were incomplete.

I can see the link but not the facility for changing it. I went into the Admin section and only found the link to the entire MaskRider sub-forum.

Hi Kevin,
If you have access to it, in the directory structure of the SOH is a folder named MaskRider2008. Within that is another named resources, you can replace the zip there.

Or, if there’s a view page source button click it and change the link directly. Chris’ site is in html and the page you’re looking for is named “basic_installation_info_for_maskrider_scenery-bottom.html”. On line #151 is the HREF you’re looking for.
