A question about AI packages

The AI package (in my opinion) for RAF Wattisham is very nice. My questions are how difficult (or is it even possible) to adapt that package, or one similar, to a different airfield? And is it equally difficult to change the textures to USN Phantoms?

Thanks, NC

It's the easiest thing in the world to both change the home base and/or the AI aircraft you want to use.
Simply open the traffic BGL using AIFP and edit away to your heart's content.

You'll obviously need replacement aircraft already installed. Apart from that, just watch the leg times.

It may turn out easier to just produce a different traffic file as you'd have to edit the life out of that one. As for the paints.. John Young always adds a paint kit with his models and you'll find one for the Phantom in the Phantom folder;)

Did that package of F4's (FGRs) come with traffic files? I didnt see any.

Eric,

After you have unzipped the acg_raf_wattisham_1991_fsx_1.zip file, the Traffic_Wattisham_91_FSX.bgl file is located in the FSX\Scenery\World\Scenery folder. The text files to compile that traffic file are located in the FSX\Addon Scenery\ACG RAF Wattisham 1991\Traffic components folder.

No, the aircraft package did not come with flightplans. They are, however, in the acg_raf_wattisham_1991_fsx_1.zip scenery package, which is what that particular aircraft package is meant for.

To Navychief: The paints can be changed to USN Phantoms if you paint your own, as no others exist for these, yet. (That I know of.) However, those models are not USN models, but rather the British FGR-2's. Michael Pearson has a huge amount of very nice ai Phantoms with a huge amount of paints, all correct models. He has individual packages for all the different F-4 models, usually even covering the interim changes within models. However, at the moment they are compiled for FS9. He has mentioned he plans to recompile to FSX soon, as he has also come over to "the Dark Side," :encouragement: and has already started doing his latest work for FSX/P3D. All of his work is posted to Avsim.com only.

Edit: Mike M. beat me to the post. :mixed-smiley-010:
