The Way We Get By

A documentary about 3 senior citizens who greet returning US troops passing through the Bangor Internation Airport in Bangor, Maine. I won't give away any details other than to warn you to have a box of tissues on hand. My eyes leaked a lot while watching it...and for a number of reasons...some good, some bad, some philosophical, some astute.

I'm glad you posted this, OBIO.
It's a very good documentary.
No reality show pumped up drama.
No one sided political slants.
Just a very heart touching story of these 3 folks.

Here, I'm going to post the link for Netflix:

http://www.netflix.com/WiMovie/The_...43f0_0_srl&strkid=1347768405_0_0&trkid=438381

PBS first aired this in November 2009.
Looks like a re-broadcast on PBS will be coming up on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010 on PBS's documentary show POV.

It's won a lot of awards already, but it has been nominated for an Emmy this year in the "News & Documentary Features" category as well.

Thanks for the reminder. I'd seen the movie listed, and it looked liked something I needed to watch.

Now I will.

Just added it to my Netflix Queue!

Thanks for the head's up OBIO!

I grew up 3 hrs from Bangor, Maine. I love that town! It's Stephen King's town!
