• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

A documentary about 3 senior citizens who greet returning US troops passing through the Bangor Internation Airport in Bangor, Maine. I won't give away any details other than to warn you to have a box of tissues on hand. My eyes leaked a lot while watching it...and for a number of reasons...some good, some bad, some philosophical, some astute.

I'm glad you posted this, OBIO.
It's a very good documentary.
No reality show pumped up drama.
No one sided political slants.
Just a very heart touching story of these 3 folks.

PBS first aired this in November 2009.
Looks like a re-broadcast on PBS will be coming up on Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010 on PBS's documentary show POV.

It's won a lot of awards already, but it has been nominated for an Emmy this year in the "News & Documentary Features" category as well.
 
Thanks for the reminder. I'd seen the movie listed, and it looked liked something I needed to watch.
