A Shooting Star?

I am not crazy at least that is what I am telling myself but I just saw a shooting star in FS9.

Cruising at 28,700 in the WOP P-51H about 160 nm out from KFPR heading to KWAL. Using real world weather. Suddenly just out in front of me I see a white streak passing in front of me.

Is this possible are there shooting stars built into the sim?

Either that or a cataract :bump: Although if you want weird, I was flying down San Diego way in an AH-1W when Tom Cruise on a motarbike flew past me, seriously. It turned out that the MAIW Top Gun package has a little AI Tom that can sometimes become airborne. It had me worried for a moment, thought I'd snapped, finally :d

Since there are fx_shootstar1.fx and fx_shootstar2.fx in the Effects folder, I'd say you're still sane - for now... :wiggle:

I've never seen Tom Cruz or a meteor hitting the atmosphere in FS 9, but I did run into this mess flying north from Elmendorf AFB in Alaska once. The shot does not do the number of AI airplanes justice as many were outside the monitor's field of view from any one angle.

The number of returns apparently shut down NORAD's Dew Line radars as no interceptors were to be seen as I continued over the North Pole to Thule AFB in Greenland.
