A small problem with Captain Kurt's retextured stock INF objects

Hi everybody! :wavey:

While working to update my ETO buildings, I had the chance to use Captain Kurt's stock buildings beautifully retextured for the ETO.

Unfortunately, I found that inf_stone_building_b does not display any texture and the CFS2 wharfs, inf_wharfs, retain their PTO texture without the changes shown by Captain Kurt's enclosed screenshots.

Attached are his screenies compared with the ones I took just today, how they display on my pc and how they should be.

A quick peek inside the uploaded zip revealed that the texture file "inf_stone_building_b.bmp" has a plain 256x256 texture instead of the DXT1 extended texture format of all the other repaints and that the file "inf_wharfs.bmp" is entirely missing.

I hope that Captain Kurt reads this thread, because I really love the looks he gave to the other stock buildings, turning some of them into something totally different. "Inf_stone_building_b " can be a perfect early war, small airfield control tower, inf_medium_buildinga" which looks like an hospital building and "inf_medium_buildingc" now an old stone and brick large farm building, fitting very well continental Europe.

A great job Captain Kurt, these retextured stock objects are perfect to be employed in place of RAF hangars and buildings outside of England, where there shouldn't be none.

Cheers!

Hi Kelti

Well that's not good. I have a broken computer at the moment. Motherboard curled up its toes and died. It's in the shop being rebuilt (no data losses fortunately) and I'm having another gently used gaming computer updated a bit to have as a back up. If I can get them out of the shop tomorrow, I will have a look and see what the problem is. If not it will have to wait another week until I get back in town. The next several months, I will have limited time to visit here and work on CFS2 projects.

Currently my job is taking me to work in Hawaii (tough duty) where the company I am working for now is upgrading most of the mechanical and lighting systems for all of Hawaii's civil airports, highways and some of the harbors. My responsibility is the lighting. While the whole project should take more than a year I should be able to finish my part of it in 3 or 4 months, most of which I'll be spending there on six of the islands and a few check up trips after that.

Two weeks ago I got to walk around Honolulu International - HNL which is adjacent to Hickam airbase, and Hololulu Harbor. Next week I'll be at Mokuleia airfield, now civilian Dillingham Airfield and Barber's Point, now civilian Kalaeloa Airport.

:USA-flag: I'll have some off time on weekends to visit Pearl Harbor again and go visit some other historical places like Wheeler Army Airfield, Kaneohe NAS now MCAS Kaneohe Bay, Bellows Airfield now Marine Corps Training Area Bellows, etc. :USA-flag:

But I'm off topic, sorry. You can tell I'm looking forward to being there. I'll get the textures sorted out as soon as I can, I promise.

My heart bleeds for you....

Oh, Capt. Kurt....I am so sorry your work assignment is taking you to such a tough place.....you lucky pup! ;)

Please, go visit the USS Arizona memorial for me and say a prayer on my behalf for those poor young sailors who are still laying there. It's something I would love to do in my lifetime, but at the current world crisis rate and dwindling jobs here, I do not think I'll ever be able to afford it.

It's too bad your pc broke down, it's a nightmare I always dread when I turn on mine. Even if I assembled it, replaced several components with new ones and I know exactly what's in there, mobo, graphic card and processor are starting to be a bit old, considering they work for long hours almost everyday.

I was able to pinpoint "inf_stone_building_b" (control tower) problem and fix it. All I did was extracting the alpha channel from the original texture, combine it with your texture and re-save it in DXT1 format. It worked fine, but I cannot conjure up your nice new ETO texture for the warfs from nothing, I'm no magician!

If you are unable to re-upload the missing textures, I volunteer to re-upload at least my inf_stone_building_b fix on your behalf for the time being.

Enjoy your work "vacation"! :wavey:

Cheers!

Fixed

Hi Kelti,

Just uploaded a new zip with the repairs. Not sure what happened. The archived zip I have has the correct textures but the one at SOH does not. Mea culpa.

Hopefully Rami will get it sorted by replacing the old zip with the new one. He's more than busy just now so here is the correct zip for those who don't want to wait for the replacement to take place in the downloads.
