A2A P-51 Civ in P3Dv2.5??

Hello,

has anyone some experience with the civil Mustang from A2A Simulations??
I am considering to buy this beauty, but since it is not officialy supported for P3D, I'd
like to get some personal feedbakc first.

Thanks in advance,

Christoph

I've been using the plane in 2.5 for a while with no issues at all. I've looked fairly closely for any glitches...so far I haven't found any.
I keep all of my A2A aircraft, lights and Accufeel up to date. Be sure you're current.

IMHO, you should really enjoy the Civilian Mustang in P3D2.5.

Ok, I have bought it together with the accusim-modul.
But after installing it, I am not able to start the aircraft.
Most of the sounds aren't working. The engine doesn't spin up.
I am not able to jack the aircraft up.
Further more, I Can't choose my accu-feel tap anymore?!?

And yes, I have updated the accusim-core to the latest version, as mentioned on their forum.

Any help is highly appreciated,

Christoph

...Sounds normal. You said something was wrong?

Only thing I can suggest is their support forum. It's usually pretty critical that the install order is correct.. In this case; probably 1.) The aircraft, 2.) Accu-Sim for that aircraft, and 3.) the latest update.

Thanks Joseph,

I have just registered on their forum and started the topic (it waits for approval).

Hello everyone,

I have just bought your civil P-51 togehter with the Accusim.
I want to fly it in P3Dv2. Even though I know that it is not supported I have got some feedback from other users, that there shouldn't be any problems.

I think that I have installed everything in line:
- P-51
- P-51 Accusim
- Coreupdate

When jumping into the sim there are many issues:

- Many sounds don't seem to work ( Window, switches.....).
- The engine doesn't spin up.
- The throttle isn't moveable with my hardware-throttle.
- I am not able to jack the aircraft.
- In the maintenance hangar-hangar it says, that many system are broken ( at the first start???) but I am not able to do a complete overhaul.
- AccuFeel isn't availeble anymore

I have installed it twice but with noe lick

All my other addons are running as they should!!

Any help is highly appreciated,

Christoph "

As you can see. I have made my research before to keep everything in line.
I hope that this is a stupid failure made by myself and that the money wasn't waisted!!

Just recently installed 2.5 and now just installed P51 civil .At first everything thing seemed fine until you mentioned the switch's sound . I haven't the sound either
I had run accusim pack but I did a rerun and the automatic updater kicked in - problem fixed .

As far as A2A accepting P3D , I noticed one of the accusim installers mentioned P3D so I guess they have done compatabilty work for their products.

This 2.5 is great !!

Probably a SimConnect issue. Have a look here: http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=121&t=42947
It's the FAQ for the C182, but the part about P3d and SimConnect are valid for you too.

Thanks Dave for the Head's Up!!
Yes the missing simconnect was the major reason for me:applause:

Still problems with missing sound of the switches and the enginesound seems to be a bit "inaccurate".
Next user related problem:
I am not able to control that plane on the ground.
The plane brakes out to the left as soon as I give some power to the engine and I am not able to steer that beast.
Is this normal behaviour?
Any advise how to tame this beast is welcome:wavey:

....Normal behavior . That massive prop out front ,with all that torque , will swing you to the left .

Read the manual and you'll find you need to trim the rudder for take-off 5deg to counter act. Don't want to put pedal to the metal straight away ! I do it slow and smooth till tail up then open up . I think thats what we call the "p" factor

Much to learn I have, Master Joda :encouragement:

Master Joda !!...you got the wrong fella. Master of none.

To be a bit more precise - going back to school physics .Spinning gyros and their precession force created . If you have had a spinning top whizzing on your fingertip and then went to move your finger you'll notice the top exerts a force in a particulat direction . That big prop hanging off the nose is the same thing. The 'P" factor in your realism settings...precession

This is one of the benefits of counter rotating props to eliminate this.

Not sure about the sound. I'll check mine to see if I get the same quoted here.

Torque on the ground:

1. Double check that your controls are unlocked (settings pop up).
2. Rudder trim to +6.0
3. Brakes on, bring throttle on to 30-35 MAP, release brakes, stick slightly forward.
4. You should feel a slight torque to right, kick a tiny bit of left rudder.
5. Watch for a strong left torque roll, you will overcorrect with too much right rudder. It's a bit of a dance, but you will get it.
6. Ease back on the stick when you get rudder authority and the tail lifts.
7. Once you gain rudder authority, roll on throttle and accelerate to rotate speed.

Read all of the manuals. Landing the P-51 is a bit like landing a refrigerator. Have the aircraft dirty and on speed well before short final, failure to do so will result in some rather nasty reactions to flap settings i.e. severe nose down attitude. If you're using ILS/autopilot on your approach, kill it slightly inside the inner marker. Fly manually the rest of the way in. Elevator trim is sensitive on short final.

Too much torque will stand the aircraft on it's head. This is not an easy aircraft to fly, it takes some seat time to master it. Once you do, you'll be in love.

@greenie: Nice to be back in school:) But luckely I am aware of the forces created by the engine. I think this addons is a very direct rendition of flight characteristics and ground maneuvering.

@gman5250: Thanks for the input. I will keep this points in mind at my next training flights. Let me know if you have tested your sounds.
