A2A P-51 IS HERE!

very cool, that one was on my 'to do' list as well! The only OD D model of the 4th FG.
I hope you've kept the underside bare metal? Your pics do not show it clear enough for me to see.
I did this paint earlier for the WBS version, and if I remember correctly the underside of the tail should be OD too, like this:

Nope Jankees the photo/drawing I was working from didn't show any of that side view only.
Also the cowling paint shows as coming to a point just forward of the radiator intake.
Thanks!
Easy fix since I hadn't uploaded it yet

here's a pic of the real thing:

not very clear, but suggests to me that the underside was OD as well. I'm sure I had another, better pic somewhere, but I can't locate it just now..

edit: hum, not much better:

I think both might be correct guys, certainly things would change relativly quickly over time.

Remember in times of war and in the context of WW2 things changed on a daily basis. Although scale modellers would have you believe there were standards that were strict and adhered too, its all out the window when your supplies where sunk crossing the atlantic and all you have is that green paint the chap down the red lion offered your crew chief last friday night in return for a pint and a bar of chocolate for his son :ernae:

Either way you decide to go with the paint its looking like it'll be a stunner, but I'm somewhat bias toward mustangs in OD colours as I bloody love the look of them.
