A2A Piper Cub Released!

Hello readers,

My question:
Is there a description for installing shockwave redux lights to this plane?
(Sorry, if this topic were already treated, but I couldn't find any solution)

Greetings
Dieter

well, first one would have to find the light switch!!!

Like the others said, no lights on the J-3. There is a thread on the A2A forum about a someone who did modifications to the .cfg to include some lights.

The original didn't have lights but it's not wrong to add them. The owner's manual describes an optional battery-and-lights kit that could be ordered and installed. Not sure how many were fitted this way but it was possible.

See this thread at the A2A forum for the discussion re: lights. Last post is mine, with the citations from the manual re: adding lights to the real aircraft. Sorry, had forgotten the specifics when I posted before but now you know where to look...

I didn't mean installing lights was wrong. You can modify aircraft however you see fit in the real world and the sim. I personally would really like to have lights on the J3 as there are times where I am forced to land at or near dusk. I just would like to have a cockpit switch, and the lights on the exterior model. So for me adding lights to it isn't a possibility. I almost think it would be easier adding lights to a real one than doing it in FSX correctly (adding switches, light housings, etc.) :icon_lol:

Yes, agreed. Somehow I thought that someone had defined the light positions for the aircraft.cfg, but apart from the VC light, that doesn't seem to be the case. I just checked the default Cub and that only has the VC light position defined. So a lot of trial and error involved just to get the lights placed - and that's before you get to panel mods. I guess that'll keep me flying in daylight for now. Oh, well... safer that way, I suppose...
