Abacus military helicopters

Hallo friends,
does any one know or remembers Abacus military helicopters?
I lost all of them - the only surviving one is the Huey.
I wonder it a paintkit existed or repaints has been done.
My own research did not give any outcome.
With some mods, a new and more correct 2D panel this chopper flies quiet well.
Best regards

You might try searching on Amazon or try looking on EBay for the CDs. :indecisiveness:
Abacus is gone but you might find a re-seller.
I managed to find Flight Deck 6 a couple of years ago. :wiggle:

Hallo,
if ABACUS has gone > does it mean that if I have reworked a chopper from the collection (the huey) with a new paint, 2D panel and reworked
aircraft.cfg I can upload them freely. Or are they still under copyright?
Best Regards

You should be able to find the answer on your question in the included information files. Normally it tells you that the software you bought is licenced to one single owner and you are not allowed to make illegal copies, distribute or share the software (model).

So the answer is almost certain no, you can upload the model. Even when the company (Abacus) is gone there are still parties, like resellers which can make claims.

Cheers,
Huub

Good morning Huub,

at first a happy and better year 2024.
For the moment I still work on the Huey.
I have problems to change is VC which is realy not accurate to this model
but I encounter some problems with it.
So before I would think to upload it a lot of water will pas in the bay of Lorient LOL.
When the time is ready I will come back to ask you how I can do an upload with out the danger to offense any one.
There are a lot of not finished projects in the workshop - - -

MV, unfortunately this is a bit of a third rail. :dizzy:

You're flirting with copywrite and contract issues which means you could have to explain yourself to a very real Judge in a very real court room ($$$).
Doing a re-paint is one thing. In most cases the payware publishers welcome re-paints of their aircraft. Providing the whole package, or any other files aside from textures is usually frowned upon. Payware companies almost always have legal council since they run/ran a business.

Generally you should not listen to copyright advice from anybody who thinks "copywrite" is a word, but in this case, Sbob is generally correct. If this is abandonware, the practical risk may be low, but it would still be technically unlawful, and who knows, there may still be an opportunist out there enforcing the rights.

Good evening friends,
thank you a lot for your advices.
I thought as the Abacus company is off.
Their rights are off also.
But yes better keep care and not pull the devil at his tail.
So IF I would release something concerning the Huey from them
I will make different releases for the panel and for the repaints
with the mods I did giving credit to the original
So I think some money searching advocate would have no chance here.
Also to whom to adress to ask for any permission?
Best regards

If you are making a new panel and repaints, it probably would be OK to release them together.

What you should not do is release a complete aircraft that can be flown without the user owning the original payware.

Would not be a problem
