Are you still using Windows XP?
If so then this may be the same problem that Ickie has seen here.
For some reason XP will create more than one connection to a server when you try and open a page. This increases server load and slows down the forum.
It is some kind of bug in XP that everyone has just had to live with.
We have connection limits here to but its way more than 10 connections.
